Connecting Clio to Kefilex

Kefilex is built for firms on Clio. Connecting the two takes a couple of minutes and, from then on, Kefilex reads your practice and turns it into the firm-wide view Clio does not give you on its own.

It takes minutes, and it is reversible

You connect Clio once, from inside Kefilex, by authorising it the way you would any Clio add-on. There is nothing to install and nothing to export by hand. You can disconnect at any time from your settings — the connection is yours to end, not something you have to ask us to undo.

Live, and never behind your back

Kefilex reads your Clio data live — matters, contacts, time entries and bills — to build the firm-wide view Clio does not give you on its own. Reading is the bulk of what it does.

It writes back only when you take an action: opening a matter, booking a consultation, or taking a consultation payment. It never writes automatically, and it never writes to your billing — bills and line items are read only, used purely to measure which enquiries became fee-earning work. Nothing is written behind your back, and turning Kefilex off leaves Clio untouched.

Current in real time, checked every day

Two mechanisms keep your view accurate:

• Real-time updates. As things change in Clio, Kefilex hears about them and updates, so your dashboards reflect what just happened rather than last night's snapshot.
• A daily reconcile. Once a day, Kefilex re-checks its picture against Clio end to end, so nothing drifts out of step even if a single update is ever missed.

What Kefilex reads

Enough to build the connected picture: your matters and their status, contacts, time entries, bills, and the people in your firm. From day one your history is imported, so the dashboards are meaningful immediately rather than empty until you have entered a month of data.

What it does not do

Kefilex does not replace Clio, and it is not a second place to run your matters. Clio stays your system of record; Kefilex is the layer on top that answers the questions Clio does not — where your leads come from, what they convert to, and what is genuinely owed.
